Established in 2020 by Simon Shaw, aka Charlie, Franglais Antiques offers you a variety of items to fit into your home, business or as a perfect gift for someone special. Modern, antique or retro, there'll be something for everyone!
"For a decade I've been driving to France on road-trips to fill up my car with items from Vide-Greniers and Brocantes to sell back in England. Of course, leaving that little bit of extra room to replenish my wine supply! Buying and selling has such an excitement about it, and I am always learning and looking for new ways to adapt to a fast-paced market!"
France, London and Yorkshire:
Simon's love for France began when his mother took him and his brother on a road-trip in her vintage VW Camper Van through Europe when Simon was 10. When Simon was older he visited France at every opportunity and fell in love with the culture.
"When I was able to travel to France on my own, I explored many regions of the country and made life-long friends through doing so. Somehow I knew, that one day my work would have a connection with France. I love rooting around in their markets for that truly great item!"
Simon went on to work at an Auction House in North Yorkshire and then another in Chelsea-London. This gave him a huge insight into another dimension of antiques and more knowledge to use now and in the future.
